Hello, my name is Rachel Mc Carthy, welcome to my eportfolio.

 

I am a lecturer in the School of Science in the Atlantic Technological University (ATU), (formally GMIT) in Galway city in the West of Ireland.

I am also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt with 16 years experience in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industries.

 

I am a positive, motivated professional with many years of experience mentoring and lecturing. I am an outgoing and approachable individual

with well-developed people and technical skills. My ongoing teaching objective is; to be an interesting, knowledgeable and inspiring student-centred lecturer.

 

This site has information about my teaching and learning and my engagement with the Level 9 Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and

Learning in GMIT in 2018/2019 and the Professional Development Framework Portfolio in GMIT in 2019/2020.

I am married to Brian, have three children, Amy, Ben and Emma and recently got our first puppy, Rolo.
