STUDENT TESTIMONIALS - 1st YEARs

Jason Greaney twitter_edited.jpg

"Jason Greaney here from Sports and Excercise Science, Group C and your maths journal class. I really enjoyed the maths journal classes this year! Your enthusiasm, positivity and realistic view on maths and how you taught it to us is one of the reasons my attendance was nearly 100%  in your class. You were extremely helpful and have brilliant one to one skills when helping people. I have always found maths difficult but your persistence to explain things to us until we understood them helped me improve my maths skills so much this year. You definitely gave me the belief that I can not only pass maths, but get as good a grade as I want as long as I put the work in.
Thanks for everything this year!"

"Throughout my Maths/Statistics course, Rachel was excellent in teaching the various concepts I needed to learn for the course. Despite the fact that there was only a single, hour-long journal class every week, I always left the class feeling more confident in my mathematics skills. Rachel was able to facilitate an excellent learning environment, one that was relaxed and stress-free yet still motivating and rigorous. Her humorous tone lightened the mood of the class all while keeping it balanced with productive feedback and directives.

Thanks for all the help over the course, I feel it really made a difference for my maths. All the best"

"Rachel was my tutor for maths throughout first year. Her teaching style was proactive and effective. She did not read from a book or lecture us, but instead she worked through examples and reached out to every single person in the class to ensure no one was left behind. She did so in an encouraging manner that helped to increase my confidence in my own maths skills. Rachel held her classes in a way that did not feed us the answers or allow us to be lazy, but instead encouraged us to be involved and get through our work. She certainly encouraged my maths studies and made me feel that I was capable of succeeding in maths, something I wasn't so sure of at the start of first year. Her life mantras and positive attitude of course added to the class. Thanks for all your help throughout the year Rachel. You were a great teacher and a huge help to me with maths."
